The primary objective of this course on Toda marriage is to give a brief knowledge about the uniqueness of their marriage because the marriage takes place only after the bride conceives the baby of her husband. This course also explains how Toda marriages are negotiated and initiated before the partners are 2 or 3 years old and the process of how it is completed at maturity, when the husband takes his wife from her home to his own hamlet.
Highlighting on the rituals that take place during the marriage, the entire course focuses on how the bride after marriage stays with her husband for a month or two and then goes to her parents place. You will also know the rituals followed when she becomes pregnant, a joint ceremony takes place called the bow and arrow ceremony. By the end of this study, you will know why the groom goes to the forest and makes a bow and arrow from the tender stems of the tree and presents it to his bride.
