The primary goal of this course is to give an insight into the culture of the Gadaba tribe, who are considered to be one of the most primitive tribes of India. Understanding the culture of the Gadabas that give meaning and depth to their lives and solidarity to their social structure is part of our study. As the indigenous culture of Gabada is closely connected with prakruti—the natural environment, Bana Debta, the nature god, is considered as the supreme god of the Gadabas.
This course lays special emphasis on enriched the cultural heritage of the Gadabas which are reflected through their rich folk traditions of songs, dance, music, rituals, and festivals. The study also throws light on the amazing conglomeration of traditions, beliefs, sorrows, and philosophies. In particular, the Dhemsa dance performed by the Gadaba women during festivals and weaving own cloth is a significant part of Gadaba culture are also part of this study.
